I converted the cigarette lighter plug into a hard-wired power adapter,
which I connected to the car's power system using leads available
under the center console.

I chose the Pro-Clip
mount, the iPod holder is easily changed out if I change iPods,
without the requirement to buy a new clip as well.

Finally, I finished off the install by getting rid of that crappy
stock shift knob and installing one of Doug
Whalen's custom jobs. I can't recommend Doug enough for the
superb job on the shifter. Great guy with a great product. So now
my z3 is properly wired for sound. Next step is upgrading the speakers
(again).
